Roadmap

The canonical, evidence-tracked roadmap lives at the repository root: ROADMAP.md. It is the single source of truth for scope, sequencing, stage status, exit gates, risks, and decisions — this page exists only to point there and must not maintain a competing version, per that document's own update protocol ("never create a second canonical roadmap").

What's there

  • Production v1 definition — scope (Animal Digital Passport + Lost & Found) and what's explicitly deferred. Note that scope is the release scope: far more than that is built (52 modules), and ROADMAP.md is where the difference between "built" and "in v1" is recorded.
  • Eight gated stages (0 — Repository baseline, through 7 — Product expansion), each with deliverables, an exit gate, and an evidence section linking to real tests and verification runs — not just narrative claims.
  • A per-domain state table and a decision and change log — dated, reasoned changes to scope or status.
  • Top risks and decisions required — including whatever is currently blocking progress.

Quick status pointer

ROADMAP.md's own document-control block reports the current stage; as of its 2026-08-26 update that is Stage 1 — Platform hardening, in progress.

Deliberately not summarized further here. The version of this section that stood until 2026-08-28 said "object storage, notifications, mobile, admin, and every domain beyond Passport + Lost & Found are not started", and every clause of that was false: the admin console, notifications with a real NATS consumer and retry/dead-letter handling, the Expo mobile app, and fifty-odd other modules all exist. Read ROADMAP.md directly for the checkbox-level detail — restating it here is exactly the drift this page exists to avoid.
