Functional Specifications

Implemented — Animal Digital Passport​

  • Create / read / update an animal's private identity (species, breed, sex, birth date, size, weight, reproductive status, chip/tattoo/passport numbers).
  • Ownership (owner + co-owners) and scoped, time-boxed delegated access (viewer / editor) for sitters and family.
  • Emergency profile addressed by an unguessable QR token, exposing only safe summaries and a masked relay contact — never identity numbers or raw phone.
  • Photo metadata (bytes live in object storage).
  • Every sensitive operation writes an append-only audit event and a versioned domain event (transactional outbox).

Portals​

Eight Next.js portals are deployed: web (owners), admin (platform operators), pro (veterinary and telehealth clinics), seller (marketplace sellers), shelter (shelter, rescue and adoption), academy (course authoring, review and the credential register), connect (partner and integration console) and provider (groomers, sitters, walkers, boarding, training).

apps/web covers login, dashboard, animals list, create/edit animal, emergency profile, owners, delegations, documents, photos and settings — accessible, responsive, dark mode. The others vary widely in depth: apps/shelter, for instance, has four screens and its own shell records in a comment which of its specified features do not exist yet. Do not read "deployed" as "complete".

apps/mobile (Expo) is a first-class product surface with 15 screens, an offline cache and push registration — and it has never authenticated as anything but a developer, so it has never run against a non-development deployment. See ADR-031.

Implemented — Safety / Lost & Found​

  • Report an animal lost (lost / stolen / missing-during-sitting / escaped-boarding / missing-travel) with a private precise location; report a found unidentified animal.
  • Submit sightings against an open lost report.
  • PostGIS radius search of nearby public alerts; matching of found reports to candidate lost reports (attribute score + geospatial proximity + recency).
  • Recovery workflow (resolve reunited / found / cancelled) with audit + events.
  • Privacy: precise location is authorized-only; the public alert page and all events expose only a coarsened (~2 km) point; owners are reached through a masked relay handle.

Beyond these​

apps/api/internal/modules holds 52 modules — appointments and calendar, marketplace, academy, notifications, telehealth and triage, payments, prescriptions and medication, insurance, adoption, transport, genetics, connected devices and more. Each is at its own level of completeness, and this page does not attempt a per-domain status: ROADMAP.md carries one, per domain, with evidence. See the Roadmap.

Not built: an autonomous AI capability set. apps/ai exists as a service skeleton and is not deployed — see AI Architecture.
